Responsibilities
Field/Design OSP BAU work orders to include road move projects, aerial work, and permitting.
Working understanding of DOT schematics (i.e. civil prints)
Work with state/local/federal DOT and the various utilities to plan the necessary telecom relocation plan. Working with DOT schematics, visit the “field,” document the current telecom facilities, and design the “solution” plan in concert with the DOT plans.
Work with Communication’s Planning, Right of Way, Construction, and Central Office Teams to coordinate project design/implementation.
Local travel may be required. Pearce to reimburse mileage expense.
Capable of managing their workload and prioritizing multiple field engineering assignments
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
Good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to learn new technical systems and tools

Required
3-5+ years of experience in copper and fiber-optic/telecommunications/telecom engineering and design
Knowledge of outside plant activities (copper and fiber cable design; aerial/pole line, buried and underground design/construction)
Proven ability to read and understand DOT schematics, identify conflicts with existing outside plant facilities, and select routing of lines and equipment required for projects
Knowledge permitting with state and local municipalities
Familiar with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), ESRI, and shapefile functionality
Ability to resolve problems following standard practices, using judgment within defined policies and guidelines

Experience with Lumen systems knowledge: NDS, WFMT, Fireworks, Bidmaster, SiteTracker, TIRKS, ODIN
