Responsibilities

Assist clinical nutrition and care team with special diets and restrictions.

Focus on proper phone and email etiquette and excellent customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, and staff. Help co-workers in all areas as needed to maintain quality & efficiency of the department.

Communicate to assist customers in meal selections. If needed, based on dietary restrictions, offer alternative selections. Complete missed meals daily.

Receive patient meal selections and enter selections into the department's Food and Nutrition ordering software system.

Work across departments to verify patient needs. Verify that patient meals are in accordance with the physician diet order.

Communicate with Food Services staff regarding proper preparation for allergies, diet restrictions, special needs.

Provide service recovery when needed and communicate identified system issues.

Collaborate and communicate with Dietitians & Dietitian Assistants to meet the requirements for patients with restrictions, allergies, or special dietary needs.

Reviews food labels and identify potential allergens.

Run patient tray carts as needed to maintain quality & efficiency of the department and ensure patient and guest meal trays are delivered on time.

Communicate with management when additional service recovery is needed, or a safety concern occurs.

Work with staff to communicate proper meal preparation.
