Responsibilities

Develop new projects to maintain a robust proposals pipeline.
Convert the proposals pipeline into a profitable and risk-managed order book for Clarke Energy USA, meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Promote and differentiate Clarke Energy’s offerings from competitors.
Establish strong relationships to become a valued technical and commercial resource for customers.
Respond to customer inquiries accurately and promptly.
Prepare customer-focused technical, pricing, and commercial quotations, feasibility reports, and other documentation, collaborating with internal teams as needed.
Manage and update customer records electronically and in hard copy, following internal processes.
Conduct research and provide market, competitor, and regulatory feedback to the Marketing team.
Contribute to order forecasts, budgets, and sales and marketing plans.
Attend conferences and exhibitions as required.
Define key objectives and options for proposals, coordinate information supply, organize estimates, and define the scope of supply.
Work with Engineering, Commercial, and Project Managers to evaluate technical risks and commercial terms.
Assist in preparing RFQs for suppliers/subcontractors, ensuring specifications and terms and conditions are met.
Track progress and status of proposals, maintaining accurate records.
Ensure detailed technical proposals meet customer requirements while maintaining Clarke Energy’s internal metrics for margin, commercial risk, and technical risk.
Conduct technical and layout surveys to assess project feasibility and determine mechanical and electrical integration elements.
Design, specify, and select scope and balance of plant, including mechanical and electrical systems for operational gas-fired generation plants.
Organize regular meetings with the Proposals team, ensuring activities are on target in terms of quality and timelines.
Support the Sales stage of projects, ensuring conceptual design and tender preparation documents meet required timescales and quality standards.
Adhere to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality management policies and procedures in all work undertaken.

Required

Degree in Engineering or a related technical field from a recognized institution. Alternative higher education certificates may be considered if supported by relevant industrial experience.
Strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
Familiarity with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
Competent in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
Proven track record in developing and selling engineered solutions, preferably within the Combined Heat & Power (CHP) sector or similar complex energy systems.
Experience in both electrical and/or mechanical engineering.
Proven track record in technical sales.
Self-sufficient, motivated, and results oriented.
Exemplifies reliability, integrity, and professionalism.
Ability to persuade and influence effectively.
Strong commercial awareness, able to act in the company’s best interest.
Determination and resilience under pressure.
Strong analytical abilities.
Highly customer focused.
Reliable and dependable.

Preferred

Experience with CHP installations, steam raising plants, and ancillary equipment is desirable but not essential.
