Responsibilities

Scout for new material concepts for suitability via literature, patents, etc., to develop approaches for current and future products.

Synthesize new polymers/materials for application feasibility testing.

Relate polymer structures and chemical properties to define links to performance factors.

Develop and monitor process conditions for raw materials.

Use statistical tools for assessing analytical measures.

Administer project management systems, summarize data, and document experimental work.

Ensure ISO requirements are met and maintain compliance documentation.

Follow Chemical Hygiene plan and seek safety improvements.

Required

Ph.D. degree in chemistry or polymer chemistry

M.S. degree in chemistry or polymer chemistry with polymer synthesis experience

Patent history and experience with inks and/or coating formulations

Able to conduct appropriate synthetic procedures

Able to conduct proper analytical and material property testing

Motivated to explore new concepts, techniques, and practices

Rigorously follows EH&S and laboratory procedures

Excellent interpersonal relationship skills

Skillful writing, reporting and presentation skills

Ability to work successfully with several development and support teams to accomplish goals

Excellent analytical / problem solving skills

Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point,)

Preferred

Ph.D. degree in chemistry or polymer chemistry

Patent history and experience with inks and/or coating formulations
