Responsibilities
Assist in conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits of Department of Education systems to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
Provide Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) support to include logging and tracking of POAMs and providing information upon request to system stakeholders
Gather and document business requirements through interviews, workshops, and other techniques
Analyze business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation
Develop process flows, data models, and other documentation to clearly communicate findings and recommendations
Assist in the planning and execution of the program, including tracking timelines and reporting on progress
Develop and maintain security documentation, such as policies, procedures, and standards

Required
2-3 years of experience in information security or related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field
Must be eligible to hold a Public Trust government issued security clearance
Preferred
Security Certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+)
Experience with cloud security concepts (Service and Deployment Models)
Knowledge of government IT regulations (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST)
Experience with Cyber Security Assessment and Management Application (CSAM)
