Responsibilities
Collaborate with business units and risk functions to identify security requirements through risk and impact assessments.
Generate and present reports to management on residual risk, vulnerabilities, and security exposures, including misuse of information assets and instances of noncompliance.
Ensure security controls are successfully implemented in application development and acquisition projects.
Work with IT teams on complex projects to address security concerns throughout the project life cycle.
Partner with IT and information security teams to select and implement appropriate technical controls.
Define operational standards for security tools and review tool outputs.
Conduct vulnerability assessments to gauge the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend corrective actions.
Develop testing criteria for systems and applications.
Execute risk assessment activities as needed.
Verify the implementation of security configurations and operation standards for security systems, applications, and network security tools.
Confirm baseline security configurations for operating systems and applications.
Manage relationships with audit teams and perform risk and vulnerability assessments for audit purposes.
Contribute to the information security governance process by recommending effective control measures.
Assist in evaluating security controls and vulnerabilities in internal and external hardware, software, and services.
Work on audit finding remediation, generate requirements for corrective actions, provide feedback, track progress, and communicate updates to the compliance team.
Participate in the enterprise architecture (EA) community, offering strategic input during EA processes.
Assess and respond to new security threats and alerts, recommending appropriate actions.
Plan and evaluate the deployment of new or updated security technologies.
Offer guidance on security activities in the system development life cycle (SDLC) and application development.
Contribute to organizational projects as needed.
Develop and maintain information security documentation.
Provide knowledge transfer to team members and business units on security standards and best practices.

Required
Comprehensive knowledge within the security discipline and general knowledge of related functions.
Skilled in performing specialized assignments and leading others to address complex problems with innovative solutions.
Ability to work independently, seeking guidance in highly complex situations as needed.
Capable of interpreting the business environment and recommending process improvements.
Experience leading functional teams or projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience developing innovative solutions.
Ability to communicate complex concepts and negotiate effectively to reach consensus.
Typically requires 5-8 years of related work experience.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
Certifications such as ISC2, SANS, or EC-Council preferred.
