Responsibilities

Maintains regular contact with a defined “direct” (non-agency) client base in order to understand the client’s medical educational objectives.
Uses a consultative selling approach to suggest appropriate solutions.
Acquires new customers, builds, and maintains strong business relationships.
Works with the Wiley Marketing, Project, and Editorial teams to understand the client’s strategies and future direction.
Takes this intelligence and uses it to form strategic proposals to their clients.
Acts as a primary point of contact at Wiley for their assigned accounts and clients.
Builds an account strategy for their assigned accounts, in conjunction with Wiley’s Global Account Planning initiative.
Participate as a member of one or more “Global Account Teams” focused on identifying opportunities for a defined list of key accounts.
Contribute to the weekly Teams meetings – the US/EMEA sales team consists of 3 other Senior Account Managers and 1 Medical Education Grants Manager.

Required

4-5 years experience selling medical educational solutions to the pharmaceutical and medical device industry.
Knowledge of medical education solutions for the pharmaceutical/medical device industry.
Understanding and direct experience with key clients in the market; their needs, purchasing processes and trends.
An enthusiasm for a sales role that will require the Senior Account Manager to develop customized and creative solutions for their clients. "Transactional sales" is only a very small part of this role.
Problem-solving ability to manage an often complex sales process that will vary with each customer.
Sales-oriented mindset in order to achieve financial targets.
Ability to work in cross-functional groups, including Project Management, Sales, Editorial, and Marketing.
