Responsibilities
Ensure accurate and timely completion of financial statements for the business portfolio in compliance with company policies and US GAAP. This includes producing month-end internal and external reports.
Manage the daily accounting activities of the portfolio, including overseeing the month-end close process.
Conduct detailed reviews of financial statements (profit and loss statements, balance sheets, general ledgers, and sub-ledgers) to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Create and post journal entries, including month-end accrual and prepaid entries, and maintain related account reconciliations.
Manage daily cash account transactions and review accounts payable for proper coding.
Act as a leader in internal and external customer service, assisting the Controller with more complex issues.
Participate in system testing, implementation, and data validation
Respond to external audit requests and ensure compliance.
Ensure accurate and timely filing and payment of all taxes, as needed.
Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.

Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
At least six years of progressive experience in accounting.
Strong knowledge of construction draw lending and accounting principles.
Familiarity with US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
Full understanding of general ledger and sub-ledger.
Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred
CPA or master's degree is a plus.
Experience with Quickbooks software or similar financial software preferred.
