Responsibilities
Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while meeting deadlines.
Assist in maintaining GAAP-compliant accounting processes across the organization.
Implement strong internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and prevent fraud.
Support the annual audit process by preparing documentation and collaborating with external auditors.
Prepare monthly and year-end journal entries, including but not limited to accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, payroll/benefits, stock compensation, line of credit, and intercompany entries.
Assist with posting revenue, expenses, and accounts payable items.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
Perform monthly variance analysis on financial statements.
Review P&L and balance sheet accounts for correct GL coding.
Follow up on aged receivables to ensure timely payment.
Assist in vendor payments and communications.
Review Federal & State corporate tax returns prepared by third-party CPA firm.
Review and prepare 1099 forms prior to distribution.
Participate in ad hoc finance and accounting projects.
Oversee business registrations and filings across multiple states and entities, including foreign entity registrations and annual reports.
Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external partners.
Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficient solutions to enhance the accounting workflow.

Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in accounting
In-depth knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting software
Strong intermediate/advanced Excel skills (Including but not limited to V-Lookups and Pivot Tables)
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
Preferred
CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus
2 years+ public accounting experience preferred
Bonus if you have public/private mix
QuickBooks Online experience a plus
