Responsibilities
Drive positioning using key learnings from existing programs and facilitate evidence-based design drawing on best practices from internal and external sources.
Elevate research findings and programmatic successes internally and to key external audiences.
Together with technical colleagues, develop and apply frameworks and approaches that differentiate Save the Children’s work, including use of Common Approaches.
Collaborate with Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) and Knowledge Management and Communications colleagues in DHL to drive data analysis and documentation of program successes and challenges and elevate findings internally and externally.
Collaborate with the Advisor, Program Development to prepare two pagers and evidence and learning summaries for key external stakeholders and audiences, including USAID and USDA.
Develop a workplan for DHL’s thought leadership, ensuring relevant technical and support staff involvement.
Contribute to thought leadership activity planning and implementation for food security and livelihoods within DHL and for youth and climate in collaboration with DHL and other International Programs (IP) colleagues.
Represent Save the Children at external events to elevate our work in food security, livelihoods, youth and climate.
Facilitate evidence-based program design, including leveraging the research and learning generated through IDEAL and the AAs to support technical innovation and program quality of DHL portfolio.
Collaborate with technical colleagues to develop and apply frameworks and approaches that build on Save the Children’s strengths and differentiate us.
Elevate relevant common approaches, including Household Economy Analysis, within DHL and as part of proposal development process.
Support the development of proposals through technical contributions, writing, monitoring and evaluation plans or budgets, and proposal direction as appropriate.
Coordinate gathering of evidence of impact for climate and youth or other cross-cutting proposals relevant for DHL.
Lead updating of and reporting on Safety Nets and Resilient Families goal, in coordination with goal sponsor (Head, DHL).
Coordinate development of Department-wide strategies and collaborate with IP colleagues on strategic planning for climate programming.
Facilitate sharing of learning on food security, livelihood, youth and climate programming within DHL as well as with relevant SCUS and SCI colleagues, including Country Offices, through webinars, discussion groups, or other learning events and fora.
Participate on movement-wide working groups on behalf of DHL as needed.
In coordination with the Managing Director, Strategy and Program Development and the Head of DHL, work with stakeholders across SCUS and SCI to develop strategy documents and plans.
Together with the Advisor, Program Development, plan monthly DHL all-staff meeting content and coordinate use of the forum to share technical and program learnings as appropriate.
In addition, coordinate planning of technical content for DHL retreats.

Required
Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 7 years of relevant experience
Proven technical and/ or managerial knowledge, skills, and experience to direct the operational activities of a unit or team, or provide technical advice, guidance and management related to various size programs, grants or projects.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.
Demonstrated proficiency in food security concepts and multi-sectoral programming.
Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
Preferred
Fluence in French or Spanish
Experience with MEAL and program quality oversight
Understanding of Save the Children Common Approaches relevant to food security, livelihoods, youth and climate, particularly Household Economy Analysis (HEA)
Familiarity with USAID, USDA, GCF or other relevant food security, livelihoods, youth, and climate donors
