Responsibilities

As a member of the FP&A team and reporting to the Director of FP&A, the Senior Analyst FP&A is responsible for supporting day-to-day planning and analysis activities that include the development and implementation of processes and tools that will deliver optimum operations of the department.
The position serves as a valued business partner to Executive and Senior Management leaders by providing financial management support that includes the preparation and presentation of plans (budgets/forecasts), regular management reporting and analysis of actual results, and the alignment of business analytics with the organization’s strategic objectives while ensuring those areas operate efficiently and effectively within Common App financial policies.

Required

Candidates must live in the United States.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
4-6 years of progressive financial planning and analysis experience preferably in a similar non-profit, marketplace businesses, and or transactional (one-time) revenue streams of $30 million or greater.
Experience using financial systems to prepare and manage budgets and forecasts, including the ability to develop and maintain a comprehensive financial projection model.
Experience with financial planning and reporting software.
Experience with analytics and visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).
Strong understanding of US GAAP; ability to communicate differences in GAAP and cash financials.
Strong analytical/modeling skills and experience executing budgeting and strategic planning processes for complex financial reporting organizations.
Excel fluency and superior financial modeling, quantitative, and analytical skills with comfort creating scalable models as well as proficiency in PowerPoint/Google Slides.
Attention to Detail: Executes their financial analysis with a high standard of precision and accuracy.
Expertise: Displays a deep understanding of technical concepts and industry trends.
Leadership: Exhibits leadership qualities by guiding and mentoring junior team members.
Decision Making: Makes well-informed decisions based on experience and data analysis.
Analytic Skills: Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data and strong stewardship of confidential and/or sensitive information.
Adaptability: Ensures effective performance when faced with ambiguity, changing environments, and demands.
Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results.
Planning and Priority Setting: Demonstrates an ability to set objectives and goals and organize work appropriately to meet and exceed goals. Includes the capacity to both think strategically and execute tactically, embodying a blend of technical, creative, business, and communication skills.
Relationship Management: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners.

Preferred

Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent certification.
Grant and/or government contracting financial modeling and reporting experience.
Experience with Workday Adaptive.
Influencing and Negotiation: Ability to influence at all levels, as well as demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and be assertive in driving successful management strategies.
Presentation Skills: Effective in a variety of presentation settings (one-on-one, small, and large groups) and with peers and management team members.
Problem-Solving & Decision Quality: Encourages innovation and is able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective, efficient, and creative solutions.
A passion for higher education is a plus.
