Responsibilities
Install new applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings
Provide go-live and rollout support
Interface with users/clients across the Montefiore Health System. Support users on new applications, modules, and functionality
Mentor and guide Application Analysts
Perform analysis of necessary application modifications and work with the appropriate Montefiore IT associates or the vendor to coordinate the modification
Determine how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users:
Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements
Interpret end user requirements, by fully discussing potential options, and help client move towards optimal solution
Evaluate the operational workflow that is applied to the system
Create system specifications from user requirements
Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and any system modifications. Document all outcomes of testing
Application implementation, troubleshooting, and support
Participate in technical integration and interface build
Write and maintain accurate and current documentation Participate in the maintenance of training materials and disseminate materials to users
Provide day-to-day operational support, advanced application troubleshooting support, coordinate modifications and updates, recommend improvements & increase efficiencies and provide pro-active monitoring
Provide 24 x 7 on-call coverage for user support on a rotating basis
On an as-needed basis, provide on-site support within the Montefiore Medical Center hospitals and/or its’ affiliates (on-site, rotational support)

Required
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Medical Technologist, Health Informatics, or a related field. Experience will be considered in place of a degree
5+ years of related clinical or business experience
Experience with LIS and/or the pathology industry, including clinical laboratories, microbiology, surgical pathology, cytology, and Blood Bank. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with significant lab experience and a demonstrated aptitude for IT.
Strong technical skills including Windows, Excel
Application implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience
Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
Technical understand of hardware, networking and servers
Knowledge of Data Innovations
Critical thinking skills
Excellent interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills.
Must be adaptable in a rapidly changing environment with competing priorities
MEETING ALL REQUIREMENTS FOR EPIC CERTIFICATION IS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
Preferred
EPIC Beaker CP and AP certification
Instrument interface knowledge
Experience with Point of care middleware applications such as Telcor, QML. NovaNet, RALS and UniPOC data management system
Prior experience with Data Innovations (DI) configuration setup and rules writing.
Understanding of HL7 and other health related standards
MT, PA or clinical experience is a plus
