Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs, primarily in Java and Kotlin and Springboot, to manage large volumes of healthcare data
Architect, develop, and optimize ETL processes to efficiently transform and ingest healthcare datasets
Work with external APIs to ensure seamless data flow and integration with third-party systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, product managers, and data scientists, to deliver cohesive and robust solutions
Enhance our Google Cloud Platform infrastructure, implementing best practices for data storage, security, and scalability
Debug and resolve complex technical issues across the stack, with a focus on backend data challenges
Contribute to the frontend development in React and JavaScript, as needed, to support the backend-focused projects
Implement and manage our data analytics pipeline, from PostGres to DBT/Dagster, BigQuery, and Looker•

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience as a Full-Stack Engineer with a backend focus, especially within data-heavy environments
Strong proficiency in Java and Kotlin for backend development; experience with data management and API integrations
Experience with ETL development and working with large, complex datasets
Experience managing sensitive healthcare or financial data with HIPAA, PCI, PII compliancy, in addition to CCPA/GDPR data privacy compliancy
Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services, especially data storage and processing
Familiarity with frontend development using React and JavaScript
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude
Preferred
Prior experience in the healthcare or data-intensive industry is a plus
Ideal experience with JavaScript and React Native
