Responsibilities

Leverage an extensive supplier network, introducing contacts from brands, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers to support Steidland’s supply chain growth.
Build and manage long-term relationships with both existing and new suppliers to maintain a steady flow of off-price branded inventory.
Negotiate and secure inventory deals that drive profitability across various product categories.
Collaborate with buying analysts to evaluate and analyze inventory opportunities, ensuring alignment with Steidland’s strategic buying goals.
Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process, ensuring timely confirmation and processing of purchase orders.
Drive supply chain diversification by sourcing new inventory in categories where we are actively expanding, such as fashion, home and kitchen, electronics, and sports and outdoors.

Senior Buying ExperienceSupplier NetworkCategory KnowledgeRelationship Building

Required

5+ years in a senior buying, sourcing, or business development role focused on secondary branded inventory.
Extensive and active supplier contacts across brands, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
Proven track record of building and maintaining strong, lasting supplier relationships.
Strong ability to assess inventory opportunities and negotiate favorable terms.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork.

Preferred

Experience across all retail categories is preferred but specific experience footwear and apparel is best as this is our main category today.
In-depth knowledge of secondary market dynamics, trends, and best practices in pricing.
