Responsibilities

Carrying out advanced engineering tasks related to hydrology and hydraulics to support the implementation of statewide waterway and flood plain management programs mandated by various Acts.
Reviewing and processing water obstruction and encroachment permit applications.
Conducting field investigations, determining jurisdiction under relevant Acts, and reviewing general permit registrations.
Assessing requests for permit waivers and determinations for dams, water obstructions, and encroachments to ensure compliance with regulations.
Reviewing transportation projects in the Southeast Region funded by the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP21).
Performing technical permit application reviews, consultation activities, inspection, and compliance activities in relationship to the Dam Safety and Encroachment Act, Chapter 105 and Chapter 102.

Civil EngineeringEngineer-in-Training CertificateProfessional Engineer License State Registration BoardLand SurveyorsGeologists

Required

Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
Possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
Possession of a valid driver’s license
Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
