Responsibilities

Examine and evaluate claims investigated by field adjusters.
Provide reserve recommendations to ensure that reserve activity is accurate and processed in accord with the specific underwriting partner’s reporting and authority requirements.
Review adjuster reports to ensure that claim file has sufficient documentation to justify all coverage and damage decisions.
Pay and process claims with within designated authority levels and complete reports as required by specific underwriting partners.
Handle claims toward resolution promptly and within each state’s fair claim practice requirements and timelines.
Interact with policyholders, field adjusters and experts to resolve coverage issues.
Respond to all incoming correspondence within department objectives on assigned files.
Determine whether additional expert(s) are required to assist a field adjuster in properly resolving the claim.
Identify subrogation, SIU, and salvage recovery opportunities and initiate a prompt investigation when required.
Comply with all state and underwriting partner claim rules and regulations.
Assist with all the various daily, weekly and monthly reports for Private Flood.
Work in the document workflow system ImageRight and Hobbes.
Assist with Private Flood litigation claims, mediations and or settlement conferences in accord with the TPA rules established by the underwriting partner.
Assist with mentoring other private flood claim examiners.
Assist with other program claim workflows as requested.
Additional efforts will be required during a Catastrophe event to meet business needs.

Required

Homeowners, Commercial Property and Flood claims experience
Prior experience with high damage severity claims
High School diploma or equivalent required
Appropriate CA resident license
Reside in CA

Preferred

Some college or Insurance certification.
Achieving multi state required adjuster licenses
