Responsibilities
Plan database capacity, estimating compute and storage requirements through monitoring and trend analysis.
Monitor and optimize information and database systems to enhance performance.
Design and implement highly available cloud-based database systems.
Develop and enforce disaster recovery and data archiving policies.
Define security requirements and implement necessary controls.
Lead premise-to-cloud and cloud-to-cloud database migrations with minimal downtime.
Create and maintain standard build guides and configurations for all database platforms.
Develop CI/CD pipelines for database installation, migration, and upgrades.
Deploy and configure cloud database solutions aligned with technical and business needs.
Implement robust monitoring for database performance, fault tolerance, and security in cloud environments.
Manage production, testing, and QA database environments.
Troubleshoot complex data-related issues and database errors.
Provide comprehensive documentation, including design specifications.
Establish and maintain integrations between systems and environments.
Qualification

Required
Deep technical expertise in AWS cloud computing architecture and best practices.
Over 5 years of experience designing and managing secure, highly available cloud-based database solutions.
Extensive DBA experience with SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle, including system migrations.
Proficiency in database security best practices, backup, and recovery strategies.
Hands-on experience with AWS services like Aurora, CloudWatch, IAM configurations, and operational best practices.
Strong scripting skills in SQL and at least 3 years each in Python and Terraform.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Informatics, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred
Master's degree in relevant fields.
Experience with CI/CD tools and automation for database deployments in cloud environments.
Familiarity with tools like Liquibase, Snowflake, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, and AWS DMS.
SSIS experience.
