Responsibilities

When issues arise, you troubleshoot live site issues to discover and drive solutions with minimal or no disruption to customers. You also perform testing and validation of network devices, and demonstrate some knowledge of data. You know what data is needed and how to find new or missing data. You provide instructions to the data center on how to repair and maintain physical network hardware, and take notes during incidents.

Participate in postmortem and root-cause analysis processes to continuously improve network reliability. You support innovation and cost management by developing new ideas for systems and tools that meet customer and/or business needs. You proactively share information across disciplines within your feature team in a timely manner with an appropriate level of detail that is tailored to your audience. You provide feedback and some mentorship to other engineers, while also proactively seeking mentorship and feedback from others.

Required

7+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation.

OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred

11+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation.

1+ year(s) experience delivering network designs into production and experience with live site accountability for a network.
