Responsibilities
Perform claims coding and pricing reviews using current coding guidelines.
Conduct focused claims reviews as requested and summarize findings.
Serve as a resource for the staff on ICD-10 CM, ICD-10 PCS, CT and HCPCS coding.
Research TRICARE manuals for benefits, limitations, exclusions and current coding guidelines to assist with the referral and authorization decision support tool process.
Monitor and track the timeliness of retrospective claims reviews to ensure compliance with required timelines for completion of assigned reviews.
Identify and report potential fraudulent activities or quality issues.

Required
High school diploma or GED
Current certification as a Professional Coder, Inpatient Coder, Coding Specialist or Registered Health Information Technician
U.S. citizen
Ability to pass a favorable interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense background investigation
5+ years of clinical coding experience for inpatient accounts
5+ years of claims processing experience for inpatient accounts
