Responsibilities
Develop, design, and manage user-centered content strategies aligned with project goals and government requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, UX designers, and subject matter experts, to create intuitive and accessible content.
Ensure all content complies with government standards, including Section 508 accessibility and agency-specific policies.
Conduct research to understand user needs, incorporating insights to optimize content design and usability.
Write, edit, and proofread content for digital platforms, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency with the project’s voice and tone.
Develop and maintain content templates, style guides, and workflows to streamline processes and ensure consistency.
Test and validate content functionality, usability, and accessibility, using tools like Axe, Wave, or NVDA.
Monitor and maintain content across platforms, ensuring it is current, accurate, and compliant with contractual obligations.
Serve as a content advisor to stakeholders, providing guidance on best practices and aligning content with project objectives.
Lead content reviews, audits, and revisions, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
Manage version control, documentation, and archiving of content to ensure seamless updates and retrieval.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Report content metrics, usability findings, and user feedback to stakeholders for continuous improvement.
Ensure secure handling of sensitive government information in compliance with agency guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, UX Design, Technical Writing, or a related field.
5-7+ years of experience in content design, technical writing, or a similar role, preferably on government or public sector projects.
Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and content strategies.
Proven expertise in developing content that complies with Section 508 accessibility standards and other federal guidelines.
Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) like Drupal, WordPress, or SharePoint.
Strong skills in creating and maintaining style guides, templates, and editorial standards.
Experience conducting user research and applying findings to optimize content design.
Familiarity with tools for accessibility and usability testing (e.g., Axe, Wave, NVDA).
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web publishing best practices.
Proficiency in software tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management platforms (e.g., Jira, Trello).
Ability to obtain a security clearance.
