Responsibilities
Establish partnerships with source system data owners to understand and document requirements related to data use, including scope, limitations, attribute definitions, and linkages to other datasets.
Utilize strong data management and metadata analysis skills.
Analyze, query, and manipulate data according to defined business rules and procedures.
Perform root cause analysis for data errors; research the scope and complexity of issues, interpret findings, and identify steps for remediation.
Prepare ad-hoc reports at the request of managers and other leaders.
Ensure the accuracy and quality of own work, including thorough research and accurate responses to queries before submission to relevant parties.
Work in a stringent deadline-driven environment, managing pressure and changing work conditions while handling all inquiries professionally and timely.
Implement and measure data quality and controls, understanding the importance and impact of data quality issues.
Determine business impact levels for data quality issues and ensure adherence to data quality standards.
Identify root causes for data quality errors and make recommendations for long-term solutions.

Required
5+ years of data analysis experience analyzing large data sets
Experience gathering and writing business requirements
Experience performing root cause analysis in SDLC environment
Strong data management and metadata analysis skills
Ability to analyze, query, and manipulate data according to defined business rules and procedures
Experience in preparing ad-hoc reports
Ability to work in a stringent deadline-driven environment
Experience in implementing and measuring data quality and controls
Ability to determine business impact levels for data quality issues
Experience in identifying root causes for data quality errors and making recommendations for solutions
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to understand compliance policies and process tasks accordingly
Excellent organization, documentation, communication, and presentation skills
Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting preferred, but open to applications from other fields with extensive training provided
Experience in banking, product/financial services, and/or auditing or compliance
Knowledge of structuring data environments and applications that use big data processes
Strong knowledge of Excel
Experience with issue management systems
Familiarity with logical data models
