Responsibilities
Lead multiple complex adult justice policy research and evaluations with local, state, tribal, and/or federal partners.
Supervise and review research and quantitative and/or qualitative analysis related to people at risk, or already involved in (and transitioning out of) adult justice systems.
Draft data use agreements and memoranda of understanding between CJI and clients.
Coordinate quality control checks for any team deliverables containing quantitative analyses.
Provide formal supervision and coaching to data specialists and leadership to project teams.
Serve in an advisor capacity on multiple projects and provide feedback on data presentation, interpretations, and messaging.
Develop dynamic written products, presentations, or other project deliverables on adult justice issues to varied audiences, including line staff, mid-managers, executives, and policy makers.
Develop and execute project work plans, timelines, and deliverables while working with project directors and managers to delegate various components.
Help create and maintain a culture in which staff are committed to implementing evidence-based practices and policies, with a particular emphasis on racially just outcomes in adult and/or youth justice systems or related fields to improve public safety outcomes.
Stay informed and educate project teams on new research that relates to CJI’s projects.
Be attentive to trends in the field and develop creative proposal concepts to address emerging issues and improve systems.
Lead, participate in, and/or facilitate networking events which may include: conference presentations; written publications for informed general audiences; technical reports; webinars; podcasts; emails; speaking engagements; and/or newsletters.

Required
Five or more years’ experience in justice policy research.
Proficiency in STATA, SPSS, or other data handling and statistical software.
Experience supervising staff and managing the work of others.
Ability to translate client and/or funder needs into clear work plans.
Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize and summarize large amounts of information.
Proven capacity to understand and oversee the analysis and interpretation of justice system data.
Prior project management experience.
Proficiency in policy or program evaluation research.
Attention to detail and commitment to the highest-quality work.
Highly developed writing skills with demonstrated ability to translate complex research findings for informed general audiences.
Motivated and independent thinker.
Possess high standards regarding work quality.
Ability to interact with a variety of people, both in-person and virtually, in a professional and collaborative manner.
Ability to coordinate and respond to multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
Willingness and ability to travel and work flexible hours when needed.
Relevant bachelor degree required.
Preferred
Advanced degree in related field preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates with work experience in criminal and/or juvenile justice, law, policy, administration, and research.
