Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable, high-performance data architecture using Azure SQL Server and related Azure technologies.
Create data models, architecture diagrams, and detailed documentation to support data management, integration, and reporting initiatives.
Define data standards, guidelines, and best practices to maintain data consistency and accuracy across the organization.
Lead efforts to migrate large-scale data workloads from on-premise to Azure cloud and between cloud environments.
Design, implement, and optimize ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and other Azure tools.
Ensure effective data migration and transformation strategies to achieve a seamless transition and integration of data systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess legacy data systems, evaluate migration requirements, and plan end-to-end migrations.
Implement and maintain network architecture in Azure, including virtual networks, firewalls, peering, VPNs, and ExpressRoute.
Establish robust data security protocols, including encryption, role-based access control (RBAC), data masking, and auditing practices.
Work closely with security teams to identify and address potential vulnerabilities in Azure data architecture.
Oversee data storage, access, and governance across multiple business units and stakeholders.
Implement data quality monitoring, metadata management, and master data management processes.
Develop and enforce data privacy policies and compliance standards aligned with GDPR, CCPA, and other regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and data analysts to design data solutions that meet business requirements.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior data architects, data engineers, and development teams.
Stay current with emerging Azure features, tools, and trends, and leverage them to enhance data architecture and strategy.

Required
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in data architecture, focusing on Azure SQL Server and related cloud technologies.
Proven experience in cloud-to-cloud and on-premise-to-cloud data migration and integration strategies using tools like Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Databricks, etc.
In-depth knowledge of Azure network design and security protocols, including virtual networks, firewalls, VPNs, and encryption methods.
Hands-on experience with data modeling, database design, and SQL performance tuning.
Experience with data warehousing, OLTP, OLAP, and data lake architecture.
Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance standards.
Experience with scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, T-SQL, etc., for automating data processes.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication skills for conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred
Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Azure Database Administrator.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in data deployment.
