Responsibilities
Design, implement, patch, and maintain all database instances on multiple environments.
Lead the release process for system and schema changes.
Perform database query analysis, performance optimization, and coordination of stored procedures.
Maintain an appropriate database access layer.
Ensure database performance, scalability, replication, and reporting.
Report to the SQL Services Database Administrator.
Utilize exceptional technical, analytical, and collaboration skills.
Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Required
Skill in SQL Server database administration.
Skill in working in Windows operating systems.
Skill as a SQL developer.
Skill in creating stored procedures.
Skill in supporting SQL Server data replication and validation.
Skill with SQL Server software installation, patching, and upgrading.
Ability to work independently and to resolve complex issues.
Ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to server and data infrastructure.
Ability to write T- SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, and Database Triggers.
Ability to Tune SQL and T-SQL queries for performance.
Operational support skills, including experience with system installations, migrations and upgrades.
Knowledge of Windows scripting.
Skill in logical database design and data models.
Knowledge of the software development lifecycle process.
Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
Ability to maintain currency on tools, methodologies, and technologies related to data administration.
Knowledge of data privacy and protection initiatives.
Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner.
Ability to effectively communicate technical data processing information verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of SQL Server backup/recovery technologies and processes.
Knowledge of SQL Server Replication practices and processes.
Knowledge of SQL Server Clusters and Failover methodologies.
The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.
Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., although being on-call and working after hours and on weekends may occasionally be required.
Preferred
System/Application/Database development, design and/or administration.
Developing in T-SQL or PL/SQL languages.
Assisting application/web development teams and business area customers in the design, deployment, and development of solutions.
