Responsibilities

Designs, builds, and maintains data processing architectures and solutions enabling the efficient conversion of structured and unstructured data to insights at enterprise scale.

Ingests data from internal and external sources utilizing cloud native platforms and software development best practices and patterns.

Develops software tools that leverage artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big-data techniques to cleanse, organize, and transform data into insights and actions that enables us to better serve our customers.

Begins to influence department’s strategy.

Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.

Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent and relevant experience in lieu of degree.

5 or more years' experience as a senior developer in large IT projects

Data Engineering experience implementing data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses to support large-scale data processing and analytics Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (i.e. Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica), Big Data Tools (i.e. Apache Hadoop, Spark), Stream Processing (i.e. Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Azure Event Hubs, Apache Beam) and Data Orchestration tools

Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture and serverless computing

Preferred

Certifications in cloud technologies (i.e. AWS Certified Big Data, Azure Data Engineer Associate, GCP Data Engineer)

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Familiarity with GraphQL schema design and implementation

Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

Prior project lead experience
