Responsibilities
Collaborate in a paired programming environment within a small agile team to deliver curated data products.
Work closely with fellow data engineers, product owners, data champions, and other technical experts.
Advocate for well-designed solutions by demonstrating technical knowledge and effective communication skills.
Develop analytical data products using both streaming and batch ingestion patterns on GCP, adhering to solid data warehouse principles.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Data Engineering, specializing in GCP native services and well-integrated third-party technologies.

Required
7-11 years of experience in data engineering.
5+ years of SQL development experience.
5+ years of analytics/data product development experience.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, designing and implementing solutions at production scale.
Experience migrating from Teradata to GCP.
Proficiency with GCP native services like BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Cloud Build.
Familiarity with Airflow for scheduling and orchestration of data pipelines.
Experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Professional development experience in Java or Python (2+ years).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related scientific field.
Preferred
Experience converting Microsoft SSRS, SSAS, and SSIS to BigQuery.
Familiarity with converting Mainframe JCL, COBOL, and CA7 to modern data platforms.
Experience converting SAS code to BigQuery.
Knowledge of Google's product technology and underlying architectures.
Experience with Data Build Tool (DBT) or Dataform.
Familiarity with data catalogs like DataPlex.
Proficiency with development ecosystems such as Tekton, Git, and Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience with Agile and Lean methodologies.
Detail-oriented team player with a commitment to quality and project timing.
SQL query performance tuning experience.
GCP Professional Data Engineer Certified.
Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
2+ years of experience mentoring engineers.
In-depth knowledge of software engineering principles.
