Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases in on-premises, AWS, and Azure environments.

Manage databases hosted on platforms like AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, and SQL Server on virtual machines.

Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability.

Monitor performance using tools like SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, and cloud-native monitoring tools.

Optimize SQL queries and indexing strategies.

Develop, test, and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies, including AWS and Azure solutions.

Align with disaster recovery and high-availability best practices in hybrid cloud environments.

Implement and manage roles, permissions, and encryption for databases.

Ensure compliance with security policies and industry standards.

Configure and manage services like AWS RDS and Azure SQL Database.

Leverage cloud tools for monitoring, scaling, and cost optimization.

Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime.

Ensure compatibility with applications and dependencies during updates.

Collaborate with development teams to design schemas and improve query performance.

Support data pipelines and integrations with tools like SSIS, AWS Glue, and Azure Data Factory.

Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues with tools like AWS CloudWatch and Azure Monitor.

Resolve connectivity, replication, and performance challenges.

Maintain detailed database configurations and architecture documentation.

Generate regular reports on database health and usage.
