Responsibilities
Conceptualizes and creates mechanical designs for new products using design software
Researches, plans, designs, and develops mechanical products and systems
Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical systems
Plans, executes, and initiates process improvement
Evaluates existing drawings and 3D models
Develops testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs
Reviews and approves 3D models and 2D drawings
Collaborates with various teams including Design, Production Engineering, and Supply Chain
Performs detailed documentation to track project development
Ensures project timeline and budget adherence
Identifies improvement and cost reduction opportunities
Creates product introduction materials and work instructions
Interacts with suppliers and contractors
Performs all other duties as assigned

Required
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering with automotive, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering emphasis
Minimum of 10 years of mechanical design & drafting experience using CAD software such as Solidworks, Catia, or equivalent
Proficient in CATIA V5
Preferred
Master’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering with automotive, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering emphasis
Automotive / Motorsport experience strongly preferred
Ability with 3D printing and scanning technologies strongly desired
Formula SAE student design experience
Experience and capabilities with surface modeling
Experience with ERP/MRP systems
