Responsibilities

Current Greenhouse Supply Chain Operations

Strategic Supplier Management: Establish and maintain robust relationships with key suppliers to ensure alignment on costs, quality, and long-term planning. Develop and implement contingency strategies to mitigate supply risks.

Operational Efficiency Initiatives: Oversee initiatives aimed at driving operational efficiency across existing greenhouses. Focus on process improvements and technology integrations that support scalability and resource optimization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with greenhouse management, finance, and production teams to ensure supply chain strategies align with overall business objectives, enhancing productivity and output.

Leadership: Recruit and manage a high-performing team, providing leadership and guidance to fulfill the vision of an efficient, innovative, and sustainable greenhouse supply chain.

Performance and Profitability Analysis: Monitor key performance metrics and analyze data trends to inform high-level decisions on resource allocation and process improvements, emphasizing profitability and return on investment.

Inventory Management and Planning: Design and implement a forward-looking inventory strategy utilizing forecasting models and market data to optimize stock levels, mitigate shortages, and reduce excess inventory.

Strategic Logistics and Distribution Partnerships: Define the future state logistics model (integrated or outsourced). Establish and manage high-impact relationships with logistics providers, prioritizing distribution agility, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Demand Forecasting and Market Alignment: Oversee the development of advanced demand forecasting models that incorporate market trends, historical sales data, and external factors to ensure accurate inventory and distribution planning.

Quality and Compliance Oversight: Set and maintain standards for product quality during storage and transportation. Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain product integrity throughout the distribution process.

Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate supply chain initiatives, forecast costs, and support strategic planning. Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings and investment.

Next-Gen Greenhouses

Greenhouse Network Expansion Strategy: Lead the development of a strategic location plan for new high-tech greenhouse builds. Evaluate regions based on market access, cost efficiencies, and long-term scalability.

Cross-Functional Project Leadership: Provide strategic direction and coordination across supply chain, engineering, and R&D teams to ensure alignment of supply chain capabilities with next-gen greenhouse design and build requirements.

Strategic Sourcing and Partnership Development: Spearhead efforts to establish long-term partnerships with technology providers, construction partners, and sustainable sourcing vendors to future-proof supply chain capabilities.

Capital Expenditure Planning: Oversee budget planning and resource allocation for next-gen greenhouse projects, ensuring financial discipline, alignment with business growth targets, and timely project execution.

Network Effect Synergies: Develop strategies to leverage synergies within the greenhouse network, including shared resources, streamlined logistics, and integrated supply flows to reduce costs and improve speed to market.

Business Case Development & Financial Modeling: Build business cases and create supporting financial models to assess the viability and ROI of new greenhouse projects. Collaborate with finance teams to integrate financial projections into expansion strategies and capital expenditure plans.

Required

Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain management, operations, or a related field, preferably within the agricultural or greenhouse industry.

Bachelor's degree in commerce, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team.

Demonstrated ability to create and execute strategic plans.

Demonstrated financial acumen and strong analytical skills and knowledge.

Ability to build, work, and maintain relationships across the organization.

Deep knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management, logistics, and supplier relationship management.

Exceptional project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
