Responsibilities

Provides senior direction and oversight for the newly formed department, including global-level projects in civil society and governance, workforce and economic participation, youth development, RNMCH and WASH; and potentially other teams as assigned.
Leads program and project management by directing best practices, mentoring, and support.
Enhances innovation and standardizes leading practices, offering expertise to project and program leaders and functional managers to improve project management methodologies and tools.
Sets strategic goals and drives team leadership to develop cohesive experiences that strengthen and expand partnerships.
Ensures development and deployment of state-of-the-art technical strategies and practices, driving technical excellence throughout the global projects portfolio and establishing FHI 360’s technical leadership.
Collaborates with management on refining project and program techniques and governance.
Manages capacity planning, resolves resource conflicts, and oversees inter-project dependencies.
Implements and governs the change management process, ensuring comprehensive oversight of project portfolio dependencies.
Advances organizational commitments to Locally Led Development and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Accountable for developing new business and hitting organizational revenue targets.
Decisions and actions have a significant impact on management and division operations.
Identifies potential risks to portfolio execution and recommends corrective actions.
Directs and manages service providers, ensuring adherence to the Statements of Work.
Acts as a communication conduit for business project status, actions, decisions, risks, and issues, and schedules for the project portfolio.
Collaborates with others inside and outside of Operations to resolve issues and ensure cross-functional project process consistency.
Provides and analyzes project, program, and portfolio metrics and analytics to support business and executive decision-making.
Communicates progress to senior leadership through dashboards and reporting.
Builds positive working relationships with local communities, district government officials, UN, and donor representatives.
Collaborates with internal and possibly external parties, demonstrating effective communication, teamwork, and relationship-building.
Sets goals and budgets for projects, leading the department in achieving strategic goals.
Provides Program Management leadership on complex and cross-functional programs as needed.
Provides capacity planning models and identifies potential resource conflicts across the portfolio.
Establishes and facilitates the project portfolio change management process.
Supports performance management and professional development of direct reports, including ongoing feedback, coaching, and career support.
Embrace additional duties as assigned, actively contributing to the multifaceted and evolving responsibilities of the team.

Required

Master’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Civil Society, Communication and Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, the Environment, Gender, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology, and Youth or a Related Field.
15+ years of relevant experience in project management, including 10+ years of corporate strategic leadership or line management experience.
Proficiency in applicable rules, regulations, and policies associated with international development and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Demonstrated experience in sector-specific multi-sector project management and implementation.
Experience in leading and managing complex projects of national/international scope.
Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and address business situations effectively.
Comprehensive knowledge of project management theories, concepts, and practices.
Familiarity with non-profit funding streams, including government and philanthropic sources.
Excellent time-management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
Strong negotiation, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to motivate, influence, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.

Preferred

Project management certification
Other relevant certifications or their international equivalents.
