Responsibilities

Operate, maintain, and continuously improve Power Flow models to support FTR and daily trading activities

Analyze and process large datasets to model and forecast key fundamentals such as supply, demand, pricing, and grid congestion within the American power grid

Predict congestion and pricing trends in power markets to inform trading decisions and strategies

Maintain, execute, and continuously improve power flow models, ensuring their accuracy and relevance

Share knowledge and contribute to training Junior Analysts

Required

Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline

5+ years of experience in power markets, including roles such as Transmission Engineer at an ISO, utility, or similar organization, or as an analyst on a power trading desk.

Proficiency in SQL and Python, or similar scientific programming languages

Expertise in Power Flow and production cost modelling of North American power markets using tools like DAYZER, PowerWorld, PLEXOS, MATPOWER, Promod, or similar platforms

In-depth knowledge of power market economics, including congestion pricing mechanisms
