Responsibilities

Planning, supervising, designing, and providing professional seal and/or advice on engineering projects

Developing and administering policies and programs

Administering engineering contracts and maintaining records

Serving as supervisor of programs and capital improvement projects

Designing and completing water resources internal projects

Administering backflow/cross-connection program and self-permitting program

Administering Sewer Asset Management and/or Water Asset Management programs

Completing reports and correspondence with regulatory bodies

Reviewing building permits and providing oversight of engineering staff

Developing water and sewer specifications and bid documents

Supervising engineering staff personnel and assisting in recruitment and evaluation

Administering regulatory and construction programs on capital improvement projects

Providing technical assistance to the Maintenance and Construction Division

Assisting with budget preparation and making recommendations for the Capital Improvement Plan

Providing customer service support for various stakeholders

Performing duties of Water Resources Engineering Manager when required

Professional Civil Engineering LicenseCivil Engineering

Required

Possession of a North Carolina Professional Civil Engineering License

Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or related field and extensive experience in civil engineering work
