Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance systems and architectures in alignment with federal government standards and regulations.
Develop and maintain technical roadmaps, ensuring systems are optimized for both current needs and future growth.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, developers, and other stakeholders, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve system functionality, security, and maintainability.
Ensure compliance with federal IT policies, including FISMA, FedRAMP, and other applicable security frameworks.
Conduct thorough reviews of existing systems, identifying opportunities for enhancement, modernization, and risk mitigation.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Oversee system integration efforts, ensuring compatibility across diverse platforms and adherence to federal interoperability standards.
Perform detailed documentation of system designs, processes, and configurations, ensuring clarity and compliance with federal record-keeping requirements.
Drive continuous improvement by staying updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and apply them to federal projects where applicable.
Participate in and lead technical discussions with government stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
Support the implementation of DevSecOps practices, automating deployment processes, and integrating security throughout the software development lifecycle.
Conduct system performance analysis and optimization, addressing scalability, reliability, and security requirements.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in system engineering, architecture, or related technical leadership roles, preferably within federal government environments.
Proven expertise in designing and implementing secure, scalable, and resilient architectures in cloud and on-premises environments.
Extensive knowledge of federal IT compliance frameworks, including FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and other government regulations.
Strong proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
Experience with database design and management, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
Strong knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as React, Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, or C#.
Experience managing and mentoring technical teams, fostering skill development and innovation.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with non-technical stakeholders and convey technical concepts.
Preferred
Related security requirements such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.
Advanced degree in related field.
