Responsibilities

Work to root cause and eliminate Virtual Machine downtime or performance issues in our production fleet

Collaborate with open source Linux, QEMU and libvirt communities to drive the evolution of Linux virtualization technologies and incorporate them into the DO fleet.

Work with cross team partners to unlock possibilities within our virtualization stack, as it relates to performance, security, GPU, migrations and overall fleet management.

Document, measure and report metrics over time such as performance, failures, API utilization and version info.

Contribute to continuous patch management efforts. Build, backport and deploy patches to our virtualization stack as needed.

Suggest and Implement improvements to our code release pipelines.

Required

Significant experience with the internals of QEMU, KVM, Linux kernel and libvirt.

Strong proficiency in C/C++.

Proven track record of solving problems at scale.

A strong security mindset.

Experience with Intel and AMD virtualization.
