Responsibilities

Represent clients in agency discussions and plan and direct surveys and permit submittals.
Mentor and develop staff, pursue and win new contracts.
Lead permitting tasks for Endangered Species Act compliance, Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permitting, and federal and state permit applications.
Manage environmental analyses, coordinate with team members and clients, and lead field surveys.
Provide QA/QC of work processes and deliverables, resolve project issues, and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Required

Minimum of 10 years of experience working with developing and preparing permit submittals in Washington and Oregon
Preparing Endangered Species Act consultation documentation
Supporting consultation with regulatory agencies
Project management expertise
Experience advising multidisciplinary teams on environmental impacts and permitting strategies
Experience representing clients in agency discussions
Planning and directing surveys and permit submittals
Mentoring and developing staff
Pursuing and winning new contracts
Technical experience in biological surveys (e.g., wetland surveys, stream surveys)
Endangered Species Act compliance
Clean Water Act Section 404/401 permitting
Interacting with agency partners
Experience preparing and submitting federal and state permit applications for NOAA, USFWS, WDFW, and ODFW
Experience with federal agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and U.S. Forest Service
Experience in both Washington and Oregon
Experience leading permitting efforts in the Northwest
Ability to manage medium to large-sized projects
Experience providing QA/QC oversight of field data
Value strong project management and a client-focused culture
Experience acquiring work through an existing network
Interest in business development
Within a commutable distance to Seattle, Portland, or Bend for in-person/on-site work as needed
Ability to walk long distances carrying a backpack and lift at least 40 pounds
Confident working outside in various environments
Valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record
Experience driving 4WD vehicles off-road

Preferred

Experience on energy transmission and/or renewable energy projects
Experience on linear projects
Experience with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)
Experience working with Washington’s Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council (EFSEC)
Experience in the eastern portion of Washington and Oregon
Experience with digital field data collection tools such as GPS, ArcGIS Collector/Field Maps, Fulcrum, Survey 123
Experience in compliance monitoring and reporting activities for construction projects
Experience in heavy equipment work
Experience with business and client development efforts
Experience preparing proposals and identifying opportunities
Experience developing capture strategies and engaging with proposal/interview teams
Experience preparing scopes of work and budgets
Experience working collaboratively with other leaders focused on Business Development
Experience in treating people respectfully and equitably
Experience working collaboratively with teams and clients
Experience demonstrating attentive listening skills
Experience communicating constructively and working cooperatively to solve project and team challenges
Experience providing mentorship and support for junior staff
Experience reviewing work for accuracy and clarity and providing constructive feedback and career development guidance
Experience working on projects collaboratively
Experience in fieldwork
