Responsibilities
Support or lead a variety of interesting, small to large site environmental investigations and remediation projects under various US state and Federal regulatory programs.
Support or lead climate and natural hazard risk analysis, integrating data from various local, state, and federal governmental agencies with data from laboratory, field, and historical sources to create high quality reports and analyses.
Support or lead preparation of project documents such as work plans, technical memorandums, climate vulnerability assessments, remedial investigation and design reports, ecological and/or human health risk assessments, environmental impact studies, feasibility study reports, etc., as part of multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, scientists, risk assessors, modelers, environmental data managers, etc.
Lead desk-top, database, and literature review for physical, chemical, and biological site conditions; water resources (surface water, groundwater, wetlands, floodplains, coastal resources); habitat conditions; special-status species; and invasive species.
Support the development of subcontractor statements of work, subcontractor selection, and oversight.
Focus on team project delivery, working with a project team and taking direction primarily from Project Managers.
Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
Communicate with subcontractors, site/facility personnel, client contacts, and regulators during project execution.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences or a related field and a minimum of 8 years relevant experience or Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience.
Experience in leading or working independently on multiple project assignments, and maintaining flexibility, while meeting strict deadlines.
Proficiency in technical report writing, and analysis skills (e.g., technical memorandums, environmental assessments, Remedial assessments and design reports, statistics).
The position requires the ability to communicate technical information orally and in writing.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
Must possess excellent organization skills and the ability thrive in a team atmosphere including the ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels of employees.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Preferred
Experience in performing ecological and/or human health risk assessments following CERCLA, RCRA or NEPA guidelines is a plus.
Additional trainings and certifications related to the environmental field are desired and should be noted (e.g., Certified in Coastal Engineering).
Expertise in marine and/or freshwater environments and sensitive aquatic species that could be impacted by site contamination.
Technical expertise in environmental remediation (CERCLA, RCRA), permitting, NEPA, and planning projects a plus.
Prior experience planning and coordinating fieldwork a plus.
