Responsibilities

Accounting and book keeping for VeriPark

Maintains general ledger accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.

Recording and scanning of all vendor invoices and maintain accounting software for these companies.

Prepare working files for monthly/annual taxes/returns(including but not limited to) :federal FIRS VAT, WHT and state LIRS WHT, PAYE tax returns and share with local Tax consultants for confirmation and filings

Prepare working file for Industrial training fund (ITF) and share with local Tax consultants for confirmation and filings

Process monthly taxes payments

Calculating and deducting withholding taxes- FIRS WHT and LIRS WHT on vendor invoice/bills for making payments as per local tax consultant’s advice.

Transfer pricing returns with the help of TP consultants

Prepare cash flow projections for Veripark Nigeria by co-ordinating with different teams for the input

Lead the annual financial audit and statutory audits. Work closely with the auditors.

Complying with all company, local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations.

Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data.

Creating periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc.

Processing monthly payments.

Maintaining accurate financial records.

Performing audits and resolving discrepancies.

Computing taxes.

Should stay up-to-date about current legislations relating to finance and accounting. Analyse local trends and provide suggestions to Management in various matters

Responsible for cross checking petty cash against receipts and expenses

Double check travel invoices/expenses and record them in accounting books as per project types

Prepare and review the timeline and accuracy of month-end and yearly closing reports

Ensure that all transactions are in compliance with company internal routines and local legal requirements such as tax

Control account bookings in line with the accounting program and bank balance, and prepare monthly reports as well as office budget and cash forecasts.

Be responsible for checking and booking inter-company transaction

Prepare and reconcile Petty cash expenses

Generating invoices and follow up payments

Liaison with the bank and do complete all formalities and documentation required by the bank time to time

Addressing concerns arising out of matters related to local government authorities

Maintain all company records in proper filing and keep them confidential

Roles and responsibilities would be changed anytime with mutual agreement when it is deemed fit.

Required

Excellent understanding of both International accounting standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Lead the annual financial audit and statutory audits.

Hands on experience with Nigerian Tax and other local laws. Should have had the experience of connecting with the local Tax other regulatory authorities

Experience with multinational organizations

8-10+ years of relevant working experience

Qualified Chartered Accountant certification (i.e. ACMA, CA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CPA) or MBA Finance

Fast paced, highly analytical and detail oriented, who demonstrates a sense of ownership

Commercial mindset and strong communication skills

Significant business partnering experience, managing, and challenging senior stakeholders is essential

Team player who can communicate effectively and develop solid relationships across multiple levels

Experience in implementing ERP financial system
