Responsibilities

Lead the development and management of the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to create accurate and achievable budgets.
Monitor and report on budget performance, identifying variances and working with department heads to manage budget adherence.
Develop and maintain financial models to support long-term planning and scenario analysis.
Prepare regular financial forecasts, updating projections based on actual performance, market conditions, and changes in organizational priorities.
Provide analysis and insights on key drivers of financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
Collaborate with the CFO and leadership team to refine and adjust forecasts as necessary, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making, including profitability analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and return on investment (ROI) assessments.
Prepare and present detailed financial reports and dashboards to the CFO, executive team, and Board of Directors, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
Monitor key financial metrics and trends, providing actionable insights to support organizational growth and efficiency.
Support the strategic planning process by providing financial analysis and modeling to evaluate potential initiatives, projects, and investments.
Assist in the development of business cases for new initiatives, ensuring alignment with financial goals and objectives.
Collaborate with department leaders to ensure that strategic plans are financially viable and sustainable.
Identify and assess financial risks related to budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities, and recommend mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations throughout the planning and forecasting process.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries related to financial planning and forecasting.
Identify opportunities to improve financial planning and forecasting processes, tools, and methodologies.
Implement best practices in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and budgeting processes to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial planning activities.
Stay updated on industry trends, economic conditions, and financial best practices to inform planning and forecasting activities.
Work closely with the finance team, department heads, and other stakeholders to ensure that financial plans and forecasts are accurate and aligned with organizational goals.
Provide training and support to department heads on budgeting, forecasting, and financial management best practices.
Communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and accessible manner.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis
Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in financial analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, financial planning software)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting processes, and forecasting techniques

Preferred

Master’s degree or MBA
Experience in nonprofit finance
