Responsibilities
Work closely with customers to shape and deliver solutions, and utilize feedback to drive delivery of improvements for medium to large complex projects
Cost effectively execute Safety Instrumented System project deliverables on time in accordance with specifications, standards, and safety requirements
Provide Consultancy to customers on Functional Safety requirements and designs
Design SIFs and ensure compliance to IEC61511/IEC61508/ISA84
Consult on Safety Requirement Specification documents
Ensure projects are following ABBs Functional Safety Management System and help enhance this process to improve quality, efficiency, and safety
Resolve technical issues both remotely and at customer sites in US and abroad
Design, Test and Commission Automation Enclosures, Control Logic and Human Machine Interfaces with ABB or third party Control Systems
Create and deliver work plans, budgets, and risk assessments
Develop your management skills by working with entry-level employees
Develop, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and tools, reporting inefficiencies and identifying improvement opportunities
Ability and willingness to travel approximately up to 25 percent of the time

Required
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or other engineering degree and minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, working as an Engineer with Distributed Control Systems and at least 3 years of experience with Functional Safety or Safety Instrumented Systems
Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and tools
A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following workplace safety guidelines
A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and a desire to learn about new technologies
A collaborative approach to working, demonstrating strong communication and leadership skills
Candidates must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
Position will be based in Cleveland, OH or Houston, TX
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
