Responsibilities

Lead geotechnical staff in planning and overseeing field explorations, construction projects, laboratory testing, geotechnical design and analysis of foundations, stability and seepage analyses, settlement estimates, earth retaining systems, and ground improvement assessments.

Develop or review full design packages with geotechnical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications.

Provide technical direction to junior staff.

Work in a team environment providing geotechnical engineering services.

Lead geotechnical engineering and/or project manager for engineering projects for public and private sector clients.

Develop proposals and participate in other business development activities.

Assist senior staff in managing client relationships, including business and new client development.

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s Degree with Geotechnical focus preferred.

Minimum 10-15 years of relevant working experience post-graduation

P.E. required, preferably in NJ

Experience with Microsoft Office applications, gINT, ALLPILE, GEO-SLOPE, GRLWEAP, LPILE, PLAXIS, SHAFT, SETTLE3D software.

Must be willing to travel, including extended periods out of town at remote project sites, regional offices, and as required by the scope of the project.

Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds and traversing steep slopes and rough terrain.

Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Must have current Driver’s License

Preferred

Master’s Degree with Geotechnical focus preferred.

Experience with NJ transportation, utility, and water resources agencies such as NJDOT, NJTA, NJAW, NJ Transit, PANYJ, PSEG, etc. is preferred.
