Senior Highway/Roadway Hydraulics Engineer

Responsibilities
Provide leadership support in project delivery and business development
Assist in the development of strategic planning
Oversee technical project delivery with a focus on profitability
Ensure quality control and assist with staff development and morale
Participate in recruitment and train, develop, and manage personnel
Promote HDR through active engagement in professional organizations
Coordinate with area client managers and marketing staff to identify projects and contract opportunities
Develop stormwater management plans and designs for infrastructure projects
Conduct analyses, develop design options, design Best Management Practices (BMP), and prepare service deliverable documents
Work on drainage review assignments
Coordinate with national business class leaders to expand service offerings and grow market share

Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Transportation, or Structural Engineering, or a related field
PE required
10 years of working experience related to hydraulics engineering, water resource engineering, and permitting for transportation projects
Successful project leadership experience is required
Strong leadership, planning, mentoring skills and staff management experience is required
Project experience and existing relationships with DOT and municipal clients is a must
Must have technical proficiency preparing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and reports, scour investigations, erosion and sediment control plans and reports, drainage and stormwater management design, waterway and NPDES permitting, quantity & cost estimates, and specifications
Preferred
MS in Civil Engineering or related discipline a plus
Design-Build project experience a plus
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, and OpenRoads Designer focused on storm water design and analysis preferred
HEC-RAS and/or SRH-2D river modeling experience is preferred
ArcGIS Pro and HEC-HMS experience is preferred
