Responsibilities

Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications, and standards

Assign, schedule, and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all project phases

Prepare project inspection reports

Notify contractor of non-compliance and corrective action

Perform field tests

Interact with the general public, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties during construction

Resolve construction-related field issues on behalf of the Client

Required

High school diploma or equivalent

Successful prior experiences with the NYSDOT, preferably with R-8

8+ years of roadway construction inspection experience

NICET III, ACI Concrete Inspection, Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) training and OSHA 10Hr certifications REQUIRED

Knowledge and experience in construction techniques, reading and understanding plans and specifications, procedures, methods, equipment and materials

Active driver’s license

Strong Computer Proficiency

Preferred

Associates or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering

Supervisory experience in construction management/inspection situations
