Responsibilities

Design and develop robust interfaces between major EHR systems and medical coding software
Implement scalable solutions for automated clinical document extraction using HL7 standards
Configure and maintain interface engines to support high-volume document processing
Develop documentation for interface specifications and maintenance procedures
Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize interface performance
Ensure compliance with healthcare data security standards and protocols

Required

5+ years of experience developing healthcare interfaces, with specific focus on clinical documentation extraction
Demonstrated experience building and implementing interfaces with major EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Athena, eClinicalWorks, Medhost)
Strong proficiency in HL7 standards (v2.x, CDA, FHIR) and interface engine technologies
Experience with high-volume document processing and real-time interfaces
Expertise in healthcare integration protocols including REST APIs, SOAP, web services
Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical workflows, and coding systems (ICD-10, CPT)
Understanding of healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field
