Responsibilities
Prepare preliminary design concepts and alternatives for review by senior management.
Lead the selection of FF&E materials, space planning and programming for design projects.
Prepare drawings and documentation for schematic design, design development and construction documents, and FF&E specification phases.
Produce AutoCAD and manually generated design drawings including elevations, sections, details and schedules.
Organize and maintain accurate records of all projects related FF&E materials and selections.
Supervise and mentor design teams to ensure required project tasks are accurately executed.
Understand and maintain accurate time records of all projects related assignments.
Lead design efforts and coordination with consultants throughout the design process.
Maintain existing client contacts and actively build new client contact and industry relationships.
Act as day-to-day client contact for project design development and design related issues.
Support and complement senior management at client presentations and meetings.
Participate in industry events, forums, and conferences as required.
Direct and mentor junior staff. Communicate employee development of junior designers to senior management.

Required
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, MS Office Suite, Revit (preferred), SketchUp (preferred)
Advanced understanding and application of design principles and theory
Skillful in interior design, interior architecture, furniture design, accessorizing, and graphic design
Knowledge of building codes, standards, and building systems and structures
Demonstrated interpersonal management skills at the project level or higher
Minimum 8 years of experience in hospitality and/or multi-family residential Interior Design
Bachelor’s or master’s degree from a CIDA-accredited interior design program or NAAB-accredited architecture program
Current registration with NCIDQ or state architectural licensing board strongly preferred
Experience with LEED ® projects, LEED ® AP certification preferred
