Responsibilities

Spearhead the structuring and evaluation of complex transactions from a technical accounting standpoint, focusing on innovative partnership and joint venture arrangements

Work closely with various finance and business groups, including corporate development, treasury, tax, and legal, to enable and execute on new opportunities for business growth

Provide expert guidance on technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and accurate representation of transactions in external reporting

Keep abreast of emerging accounting issues and analyze their implications for Equinix’s financial reporting

Contribute to the external financial reporting process, including quarterly and annual SEC filings (Form 10-K and Form 10-Q), ensuring accuracy and compliance

Assist in SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance efforts related to technical accounting policies and financial reporting

Conduct ad-hoc research and analysis on technical accounting topics as required

Required

Minimum of 8 years of experience, including some experience at a Big 4 accounting firm professional practice or national office serving SEC clients and multi-nationals

CPA certification (active or inactive); additional certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus

Must have a technical accounting background with significant experience in complex, judgemental consolidation assessments pursuant to ASC 810

Proven experience in researching and documenting complex accounting issues under U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations

Ability to interpret transaction documents for accounting and disclosure implications

Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to present/communicate complex issues effectively at all levels, including Executive presentations
