Responsibilities
Market research
Research specific topics at the request of the strategy team or other teams at Brightcove (PM, PMM, Corporate Development, Executives, Investor relations), reviewing articles available through analyst subscriptions
As needed by the Strategy team, identify analysts with areas of coverage on key research topics and organize analyst query calls with stakeholders to obtain market insights
Interact with and support the business, solution management, field marketing, solution/partner marketing, field sales, other comms functions, globally and with specific regions as needed
Review analyst publications for mentions of Brightcove and its competitors and make this information available to cross-functional stakeholders at Brightcove
Attend and summarize key webinars where topics are relevant to Brightcove’s industry and business
Advise Brightcove leaders and internal teams about analysts perceptions about Brightcove, competitive insights and industry trends.
Provide estimates of addressable market for opportunities that pertain to Brightcove’s product and go to market strategies
Competitive insights
For each distinct market need that is being addressed by the product strategy, track the competitors that provide the best alternatives in the market
Compare Brightcove’s capabilities & integrations to competing products
Provide feedback to Product and Marketing teams about areas where competitors have strengths and which of these strengths are most important to the market
Analyst relations
Develop and implement analyst relations plans in alignment with company portfolio and growth objectives
Manage purchasing, and price negotiations with analyst relations firms for market research subscriptions
Regularly meet with analyst contacts to identify upcoming coverage where Brightcove should be evaluated
Drive Brightcove participation in major analyst research publications (e.g. Gartner Magic Quadrants, Forrester Waves, IDC MarketScapes), coordinating cross functional teams to complete the detailed questionnaires
Generate Analyst Relations content, including briefing documents, messaging, competitive positioning, rebuttals, and responses to issues
Act as editor to ensure evaluations to position Brightcove’s answers in the best light possible with a writing style that is consistent and professional; and obtaining final executive approvals prior to submission as needed
Manage reporting, results analysis and distribution of all key analyst reports to bring key insights and efficiency to the organization.

Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or Communications preferred
5+ years of marketing communications experience
5+ years in a strategic analyst relations position
A team player with a positive attitude and a collaborative work style
Trusted relationships with analysts and influencers
Knowledge of trends in communications and analyst relations
Exceptional interpersonal, written/verbal communication skills and attention to detail
Experience working directly with executives, product management and product marketing functions
Proven and successful in balancing strategic thinking with tactical, detailed execution.
Ability to be creative, strategic, analytical, and think outside the box to solve problems and secure opportunities
Ability to develop metrics, build executive summaries and communicate market insights
Ability to work independently, managing multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
Strong project management and time management skills
