Responsibilities

Report to the Project Manager/Lead on functional matters and produce design reviews, method and time-related information for tenders, construction management, completion, and post-construction obligations.

Understand building services design principles, construction techniques, commissioning, and handover requirements.

Communicate and cooperate with subcontractors, assist with tender submissions, and pre-construction activities.

Manage and lead the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) team or major trade packages on site.

Review design and installation drawings, produce scope of works, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Chair design, construction, and completion meetings, as well as subcontractor progress meetings.

Coordinate with clients' representatives, design consultants, and subcontractors throughout the construction phase.

Required

A good understanding of NEC contracting.

Preferably qualified with a degree in building services, or mechanical or electrical engineering, will consider relevant HNC or HND qualifications.

Established skills and traits in managing people to get the best out of them.

Leadership

Motivational and proactive.

Background in design, construction & delivery process including design management experience with a main contractor on projects above £100m in value.

Knowledge of design principles and experience in project delivery

Commercial and financial understanding in the above context ability to contribute to value engineering as part of the design process.

Skill in managing disputes and finding solutions.

Minimum experience approximately 15 years in construction, including a sound knowledge of construction methodology, process, and sequence

Experience of User group interface and stakeholder engagement.
