Responsibilities
Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to customers and peers
Continuous self-improvement and learning to maintain technical leadership of applicable technologies (data center, SDN, public cloud, security, networking, etc.)
Performs complex installations, upgrades, and maintenance and technical duties supporting the operations internal and non-internal network
Assist in the development of network/security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures relevant to IT infrastructure
Works in collaboration with the network engineers, network administrators and other professionals in network setup and configuration
Assess the existing network technologies to increase the performance, security & efficiency
Sound understanding of the data communication needs, configuring components and resolving any issues prior to implementation
Plan the network model based on existing network traffic and estimate the growth of the network
Upgrading the network equipment from time to time, focusing on the effects of the new equipment on the network performance and make recommendations
Must take into consideration all the factors that might affect the network security
Maintain a proper record of the networks that are being designed via the network documentation including network drawings, text descriptions and equipment configurations
Communicates with the client, the team and NOC on a day to day basis to ensure quick turnaround times, resolutions and maintain a robust environment
Interact with global customers and decompose goals into bespoke solutions
Proven ability to deliver complex network solutions from design to completion
Expert understanding of data center and WAN/MAN architectures
Expert understanding campus network technologies and NAC controls
Expertise with software-defined network technologies (Cisco ACI, SD-Access, SD-WAN)
Subject matter expertise across Layer 3 routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and IP multicast
To provide 3rd level support
Experience with network management tools such as Solarwinds, Netbrain, Nagios, etc
Fast learner - able to grasp concepts from on-the-job training
Teamwork and internal customer skills
Ability to work effectively with vendors, staff, management and end users at all knowledge levels
Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially when communicating with internal or external customers
Thorough analytical skills
Proficient in handling multiple responsibilities and tasks simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced and demanding environment
Responsible for the design, install, configuration, and lifecycle management of all Network devices. [Load Balancers, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and cloud networking products]
Provides subject leadership for the design, engineering, implementation, and management of enterprise networking solutions with high reliability and availability
Introduces new networking technologies or improves existing technologies to transform existing capabilities and services
Provides networking domain expertise to other teams as needed
Builds and maintains technical documents and plans for solutions and standard operating procedures such that services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner
Works independently and exercises reasonable judgment with little supervision while providing clear documentation of activities and accomplishments
Interacts closely with management across all departments
Participate actively in engineering and architecture solution peer reviews and solution design sessions
Perform other duties as assigned
Participate in on-call rotation
Must be able to work occasional weekends, after hours, and holidays
