Responsibilities

Scoping and development, validation, and sustaining engineering activities on automation equipment on site.

Identifying, leading, and implementing semi and automated solutions to improve product quality and operational efficiency.

Being the primary point of contact on system-related issues, owning issue resolution and follow-up with relevant groups.

Leading efforts to ensure automated equipment has redundancy with programs and backups.

Implementing process control solutions through the use of automation.

Setting project improvement goals, planning, tracking, and driving implementation to achieve those goals.

Coordinating with engineering and management team to maintain and design automation systems.

Providing budgetary costs for assembly systems and upgrades.

Identifying, justifying, implementing, and managing new manufacturing systems and equipment to improve productivity.

Taking a systematic approach to process optimization and problem-solving.

Defining, producing, and implementing documents including standard work and process work instructions.

Performing all duties and directing others to create a safe working environment.

Managing automation and equipment projects from conceptual design to production release.

Providing project leadership and supervision for assigned automation, equipment, and software projects.

Identifying, justifying, and implementing technology and equipment upgrades.

Developing and documenting work instructions and job aids to facilitate training.

Managing multiple contractors to support site activities.

Utilizing automation process knowledge and investigational skills to identify and resolve automation issues.

Participating in cross-functional teams to drive complex investigation closeouts and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Building cross-functional relationships and enhancing relationships with team members.

Conducting preventive maintenance programs and keeping accurate maintenance records.

Installing, maintaining, and calibrating industrial instrumentation and related devices.

Developing maintenance documentation, training programs, and leading training pertaining to automation systems.

Establishing test plans and controlling test plan execution.

Leading efforts to implement corrective actions for breakdowns and chronic equipment failure.

Developing upgrade, patching, and testing schedules and ensuring execution against schedule.

Acting as a subject matter expert in the design of similar systems in other facilities and assisting in training new team members as needed.
