Responsibilities
Analyze and evaluate application, system, and ecosystem performance, focusing on the data tier in both cloud and on-prem environments.
Identify and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks and issues.
Simulate user/system traffic to measure, evaluate, and analyze component behavior.
Optimize code, queries, and system configurations to improve response time, scalability, and resource efficiency.
Analyze Oracle wait events, AWR Raw data, and trace files, correlating them with system behavior.
Generate and analyze AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports.
Predict system behavior under full load/stress by extrapolating system performance data.
Communicate complex results and metrics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on performance issues to identify the underlying causes of slowdowns or failures.
Evaluate and predict future performance needs based on application usage trends and growth projections.
Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and issues, applying solutions to optimize performance.

Required
8+ years of experience analyzing and evaluating application performance across multiple tiers.
8+ years of experience identifying and implementing solutions for performance and scalability bottlenecks.
8+ years of experience with Oracle wait interface and event analysis.
8+ years of experience with performance tuning of large Oracle databases (50+ TB) in AWS.
8+ years of experience with large Oracle Exadata databases and clusters.
8+ years of experience with non-Exadata database tuning.
8+ years of experience with Linux shell scripting, SQL tuning, and session tracing.
8+ years of experience with AWR, ASH, and ADDM generation and analysis.
8+ years of experience with interpreting AWR Raw data and analyzing system behavior.
8+ years of experience in technical writing and diagramming, including proficiency with Visio, Erwin, Microsoft Office Suite, and MS Project.
8+ years of experience working with multiple teams, managing priorities, and delivering high-quality work on time.
8+ years of experience with troubleshooting performance issues.
Extensive knowledge of Oracle internals related to database performance.
Understanding of application behavior, performance, and interaction with databases.
Must have State/Federal client experience and must reside within Texas.
Preferred
5+ years of experience working on an agile sprint team.
5+ years of experience with JIRA software.
4+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience working with HHS agencies, PII/PHI data, HL7 data, or within the healthcare industry.
